"Dream Girl" Mixed Media Canvas"

Fun project! I am taking the FACEcinating Girls online class with Andrea Gomel. Andrea is fantastic and has so much to share! There are three classes and tons of videos. I want to jump to the end and paint just like her! But I must pace myself and start at the beginning... LOL

The class includes a set of clear stamps that have three set of eyes, nose, lips and a few extras. Of  course you don't have to use the stamps in all your work. The canvas below I drew in the facial features freehand. If your thinking in taking the class, you will not be disappointed.

5x7 'HAPPY ART' Canvas

I love playing with mixed media art.... ahhhh my happy place!
This is a 5x7 canvas. I used various colors of acrylic paints to cover the canvas and used Webster's Pages' collection 'Ladies & Gents and Trendsetter for the background, word cut-outs and to paper piece the prima doll. The flowers are from the thrift store that I gesso'd first before gluing down.

Mixed Media Canvas - Sweet Glam Girl

If you haven't tried mixed media painting, drawing or fanciful adornments then you're missing out. Go out to the dollar store and buy a canvas... any size! Feeling nervous or intimidated... buy a teeny tiny one, maybe 5x7. Get out some paints, pastels, brushes, crayons, colored pencils, watercolor paper, scrapbooking paper, and PLAY!

I bought a fantastic book by Suzi Blu at Amazon called Mixed Media Girls This book is so cool! Suzi shares tons of valuable info and the photos are FUN! Plus a BONUS DVD!
